Studying the Pearl for at least four hours, you realize that one side has a slightly warmer hue than the other and conclude that, just as the school of conjuration has a dual focus, so must the Pearl: one side contains the magic to move you or your companions through space (teleportation), while the warmer side can pull other-planar entities to you (conjure and summons).
You can attempt to attune to either side, or both. Both requires two attunement slots.
To attune: The following must be completed between dawn and dusk of the same day.
Using the Sun Pearl as your spell casting focus,
- Cast at least 30 levels of conjuration magic. If you cast a non-conjuration spell from your spell book or another magical item in which you can choose the spell, including cantrips, the spell count starts over. Up-casted spells count towards the spell count at the casting level. Conjuration cantrips do not contribute to the level count, but do not disrupt the count either.
From the spells cast, the following must be completed:
- Teleport yourself (others are permitted as well) successfully on target, once, to a location in which you have only casually seen, viewed once, or from a description.
- Teleport yourself to a different plane and back again.
- Summon or conjure a creature with a CR of 5 or higher.
- One conjuration spell of your own creation must be cast as part of the attunement (see below).
- Use two of your Conjuration class features sometime between casting the first and last conjuration spells during the attunement process.
- Create and cast a conjuration spell of 3rd level or higher, with a unique feature of either teleportation or summoning, based on the side you wish to attune (teleport/conjure.) If you’re planning to attune to both sides of the pearl, you must create and cast a spell of each type.
Once completed, you will be fully attuned to either side (or both) of the Sun Pearl. Then the benefits of the attunement will be revealed.
