OLO KELYDARK

The tales of the bounty hunter, his exploits and dangers of being a firbolg in a modernizing world.

You are Olo Kelydark

A 13th level firbolg Hunter Ranger–a bounty hunter of thieves and plunderers.

You are Olo, a Firbolg bounty hunter was separated from his clan about 85 years ago when guilds of dwarves, elves, and humans invaded and stripped the forested lands in favor of cities and farmland.

Firbolg communities are rare and Firbolgs themselves are peace loving and would rather depart out of the land than battle others. For as long as there is nature, Firbolgs will have a home.

You can’t quite bring yourself to agree with the clan. It would be easier to simply move on, but you wrestle with the idea that anyone should be allowed to simply take what they want without regard to others.

In a rogue move, you leave your clan, risking the chance to ever join them again and became a bounty hunter, specifically thieves and corrupters of nature.

Everywhere you go, people look at you as if you stepped out of a childhood fairytale, which is closer to the truth than you realize. Most imperial citizens have never even heard of firbolgs. Stories involving these folk are rare, and typically liken them to the giants, depicting firbolgs as hulking humanoid warriors rather than fur-covered nature lovers.

After a long hunt that led you to Port Damali, you have captured the the notorious thief, “The Meadowlark” and are returning her to officials in Nicodranas.

The Meadowlark is named such for her lyrical and pitch perfect voice. Several times, she tries to lull you into a trance but you have so far succeeded in defending against it.

Instead, she tries to explain why she steals, from whom she steals and what she does with the bounty once acquired. It is not to grow fat on the backs of others, she says. That appears to be the government’s and the guild’s job.

“You rob the rich to give to the poor?” you ask.

“Only when the rich robbed the poor first,” she says in reply.

For a moment, you consider this and wonder whether she should be free and you should be hunting the guilds. You shake your head as the question recalls the terror of your youth and the invasion of loud machines and smoke.

Thanks to the trade guild’s deep pockets and connections, you’ve booked passage on the luxury ship “The Cloud Quintessant” the fastest way back to Nicodranas, where you can unload your quarry, and move on to the next job.
